Core audio and the Grey kernel panic screen
Getting Grey reboot screen when core audio is being accessed by some programs.. Jam and toast being the biggest culprits. But quicktime, and others do it too.. Is there a way to disable core audio from being used on a app by app basis?
Or has any one else seen this behaviour? Any fixes? Thanks

Re: Core audio and the Grey reboot screen
FYI...
The "Grey Robot" screen is called a Kernal Panic.

Re: Core audio and the Grey kernel panic screen
I don't know of a way to disable Core Audio by application, but you could change your Sound Preference to "Built-In" until you've got it fixed. Between my personal experience and several posts in different threads here I have come away with the impression that Quicktime has become very flaky since version 7, and I think I read one post that recommended re-installing it to repair a different problem. Maybe your DCAM install is buggy and a re-install of that might help also..?
