Default Beat Triggers vs. Elastic Audio Events

First of all, POP POP.

Second of all, an inquiry regarding the detection processes between Beat Detective and Elastic Audio. This is not a question of preference in method or practice using either or, but specifically how Pro Tools interacts with transients using BD/EA algorithms.

We (my dawg and I (we bros)) are wondering what differences and practical benefits surface from using different algorithms particularly when doing manual, phase-accurate drum enhancement.

We know they are different, as Elastic Audio only has sensitivity settings while Beat Detective has High, Low and Enhanced analysis resolutions, as well as sensitivity. The analysis is identical with all Elastic Audio algorithms as they only change manipulation of audio, and not transient detection, thus it comes down to two options: they are linked with BD's detection algorithms, or not. Also, Tab to Transient explicitly follows the Elastic Audio events set by its sensitivity settings, and not Beat Detective's.

Simply put, we ask: does EA share algorithms with BD in any way? Are they linked? Which is more phase-accurate? HMMMMM?????????

GOTS TO BIZOUNCE.
TTYL DUCS.
THIRD OF ALL, QUACK QUACK.
