win98 and digi001
I'm new to this forum, I hope this hasn't been done to death...
I'm looking into buying a Digi001 setup and the sales guy mentioned I had to buy a Mac to run the Pro Tools LE?? Is this true, or can I use my PC, if so how fast of a processor and how much RAM. Thanks, -goldtop |

Re: win98 and digi001
It has been done to death, but I was once young in the Force too, Luke, so I will explain. We have been waiting for MONTHS for the Windows release, which will be out at the end of this month or the first week of June. No official Digi specs for hardware, but rumor has it you will need a PIII 500 - 128 RAM (256 recommended) - 7200RPM spin hard-drive...blah, blah, blah. The smart bet here is the bigger, faster, stronger the better. If you buy the 001 now and register as a Windows user, they will either ship the software to you or post a download site as soon as the Windows version becomes available.
...and that's all I have to say about that. (I'm using lot's of movie lines today for some reason.) gtrboy |
