Default Mbox 2 Mini/PT 7.3.1 on WinXP problem

So I got my mbox 2 mini and since I can't wait testing it, I tried to install it on my secondary system, a PC (P4, 1gb ram, etc..) with windows xp pro (sp2), downloaded the latest upgrade and started the application.
I installed the external hdd (lacie d2 quadra..) via USB (I don't have firewire ports on my pc). having installed the hfs+ mac-pc compatibility feature, I was quickly able to listen to certain audio files via my media player (foobar2000) to test the drive.
when I open a session I've created on a powerbook (the last ppc edition ever, 1,5gb ram, etc..), it says not all 'text' will be readable because of a language difference and that the saved disk allocation couldn't be used and that the inputs couldn't be reenabled (which is logical, having created the session on a digirack 002 with more than 2 inputs).
fair enough, I don't need the inputs since I only bought the mbox 2 mini to mix existing sessions in a different room with my favourite speakers, and I didn't use any 'weird' characters which would be unreadable on a pc.

unfortunately, when I try to playback the session (+- 20 audio tracks, 24 bit, 48khz), all I hear is 'white noise' or heavily distorted sounds when there is practically no sound on the tracks at all. all level faders are stuck on the maximum position when it's playing, not moving at all.

So i borrowed another powerbook (not mine but exactly the same) and everything works perfectly fine despite the same error messages but the language thing.

It's not a catastrophe since I'll be with my powerbook in only a few days but I really want to test the mbox 2 mini until then.

Has anyone come across the same problem and/or knows a solution to my problem?

I would appreciate it!

regards,
rotzbouw
