Default Floor Wedge Feedback

I wondered if something like the Sabine Feedback Exterminator would find its way to Venue as a plug-in for the "oops I put my mic in the floor monitor"... I use a hardware product for those vocalists I can't trust but a plug-in would be mo-betta.

Cool Feedback

While not exactly what your asking for- I do have a tried and true way to insure feedback only happens once when someone puts their mic into a monitor. DO NOTHING, let that thing ring out with all its glory for about 5 to 7 seconds. Unless they are totally out of touch with reality they will realize that is not the best thing to do.

I'll go one further and suggest actually turning it up...

That's Funny! I actually use Aviom mixers for stage. I mix FOH and refuse to mix monitors anymore... (and I'm small fries so no stage mixer). It's usually about 2 seconds before I hit the aux ..

But still - any whispers about some kind of plug-in feedback thingee?

If this plug-in goes into the D-Show, I will retire from the live sound business.

Default Re: Floor Wedge Feedback

I'm not sure how the some other "feedback exterminator" boxes work, but the I tried the sabine box and you actually have to ring out the monitor in a detect mode and it will insert a very high Q notch at that freq. It doesn't really have a live mode. That being said, it actually sounded pretty natural even after I have 4 or 5 filters on. I'd still have a graphic, just in case something crazy happened.

take care
Gil
