Default Re: Aux I/O for Windows OS?

Since I have an RME interface with TotalMix, I'm fine for routing. I do hope it arrives for those Windows users who could use it, although I'm reading in a few posts that Aux I/O can be a bit flaky and could have Latency. I also would like to see some way to use Avid's AVB interfaces on Windows for those who would like to purchase those interfaces. Realistically, I don't hold out much hope for either, certainly not while the transition from Intel to ARM is going on with Apple and Pro Tools and Avid's video programs.

I used that VB-Audio thing with an Antelope Zen Studio+ under Windows 7 and had no issues, worked reasonably well. That was about 3-4 years ago so I’m not real keen on details other than Antelope had no WDM component for iTunes & such.

FWIW I tried Aux IO on a Mac Pro recently and I was not very impressed. Support for stereo paths only, and the latency behaviour is apparently random. Thankfully I personally have all the functionality I need with the MTRX Studio.

AUX IO is 100% based on Core Audio, so it's very unlikely that this functionality will be implemented into Pro Tools on Windows.

best,
