Default Waves announces Native Surround Tools...

Waves Native Surround Tools were anounced for Nuendo and Cubase SX3.

Okay, so this may already be old news to some, but I found it interesting.

I was just wondering if this will give Digidesign more incentive to provide a PTLE (or PTSE) with surround capability in their next release.

Probably not. Digidesign doesn't seem to care what the current state of their competitors' products are, nor what their own users would like to see. As evidenced by the MBox2.

I always love hearing "Digi doesn't care about what their customers want" from the little disgruntled guy.

Maybe they should have made an Mbox with 16 inputs, Neve preamps, dual lightpipe, thrown in a Diamond Bundle, and priced it at 200 bux?

I'll bet even THEN you'd have the little flies buzzin'

No one really gives a good GD about surround do they?

Maybe 7.0 will offer it for the few who care.

I guess the same guys who didn't care for stereo when it first came out. The way we capture and listen to audio will always change, and that's a good thing!

Lots'n'lots'n'lots'n'lots'n'lots'n'lots'n'lots'n'l ots'n'lots of stuff not as great as competitors in Protools LE.

Those that need surround can get it at a good price nowadays, and it isn't with Protools LE. As soon as I see editing and routing capabilities in other apps that match what I do on Protools TDM, I won't be using Protools TDM for more than high end production work. Everything else will be cheaper and it seems more innovative in a lot of areas.

I'm curious about 7.0 as well, but I left my optimism concerning Digidesign behind years ago, no matter how good the hardware or some aspects of the software actualy serve the needs of the user. Great products with many pitfalls and shortcomings that we have to live with. Gee thanks.
