Default Icon platform m+

Hi,

Comparing this controller in Logic Pro X and
Pro Tools just makes me want to cry. Pro Tools
Is barely workable because of the huge lag and
Sluggishness.

Question is: can it be improved?

Or I'd this just another part where Avid lags
Behind the competition?

Mackie Control work great In Logic.

Hui not so cool with PT :)

Any suggestions or is this it?

Mackie Control Driver for Pro Tools.
(The new software guys n gals could spend some hours absorb the Mackie license fee and voila!

However if using HUI (I am), be sure to uninstall Eucon. Pretty swift here (ssl HUI)

Mackie Control driver for Pro Tools? How do I use that instead of HUI in PT?

And how to uninstall Eucon? I have never used any Eucon controller not installed any support for it.

I'm on macos high Sierra and PT 2018.1

You don't, Pro Tools does not support MCP protocol, it only works with HUI with Mackie controllers.

The icon doesn’t give you install instructions and setup for Pro Tools?

It's working, only it's much less (or no) lag in Logic Pro,
Pro Tools is just not responding in a workable way to the
controller. We're talking the same underwhelming feeling playing midi keyboard with
2048 buffer on a SBLive! :)

Actually now that you mention that

I have always used USB to midi keyboard controllers with pt

But recently had some issues and I bought myself a MOTU fastlane usb to midi interface
Running a stand-alone VI, (no pro tools)
While using my controller straight to the computer I had tons of latency....

Once I plugged the MOTU in And Ran my keyboard midi to the MOTU, there was no noticeable latency while playing the VI.

Point of the story is that Drivers (and how they are written) make a big difference in the quality of use inside a software program

It's possibly a bug introduced in 12.7.1 Making midi lag when there's plugins on the master bus or something like that..? See thread below..

I am also having issues with my Icon platform m + controller. I have Pro Tools 11 on Mac OS Majave. I selected HUI for midi controllers and put my midi input devices to the platform m+ and the controller is not working. It recognizes its there but doesn't work. When I open Logic it works automatically. I've updated the firmware and still does not work with pro tools. Has anybody gotten it to work properly with Pro Tools?
