Default Pro Tools Video Engine

Hi Folks,

I really need some orientation about the video engine of Pro tools 11.

I was reading that in video mode, unlike of audio, you only have ONE line time. So it isnt like the audio as you have multi track to edit with liberty.

So I´m imagining that video engine in pro tools 11 does not allow you to really edit video.. just upload a final edited part am I right?

There´s not enough information about the video engine.. I really dont have experience working with audio/video material, but i want to learn to.. I have very well experience working with pro tools in audio mode so, I dont know if pro tools would be a good option to starting to combine those worlds, the audio and video..

Thanks for you help..

Default Re: Pro Tools Video Engine

Pro Tools is great for adding and editing sound to a finished film or edited video. Don't confuse Pro Tools with being a video editor, thats another program. Yes, you're right: Ask your video editor for a finished video and then import that video into Pro Tools - and start adding and editing sound.

Pro Tools offers only one video timeline.
Pro Tools HD offers multiple video timelines.
ONE video timeline is all you need to begin with.

There are a lot of guides to this craftsmanship around the web and on YouTube. Look for some combinations of these keywords: "Pro Tools" "video" "post production" "audio post".

Good luck! =)
