Splitting a session's audio files over multiple drives
Can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to split a session's audio files up between more than one hard drive? I've gotten in a massive session here that they want to do some edits to, but just trying to run everything off of the internal SATA drive is throwing disk errors left and right. Won't play for more than a couple beats at a time. Hoping if I split up the audio files across two drives it'll run.
PT9, OS 10.6, 16GB RAM, Intel 8-core Xeon 3.0GHz

put another internal drive in
make a session folder then an audio folder inside on the second drive copy half of the audio files to the new folder delete what you copied from the original drive launch Pro Tools make sure the new drive is set to Record in the Workspace open the session relink to the new location

Maybe these other guys know you personally, but since I don't I'll ask the obvious question...
... the internal SATA drive ... That's not your only internal drive, is it? Given you're computer's specs I would tend to guess not, but you never know...

You don't even have to remember to do that. Just use the "Save Copy in ..." command. This function will gather your files automatically from whatever drive they are on and back everything up to a single folder wherever you specify!
