Default PT TDM Mix cards & Panther on G4 when ???????

Digi,

Why such a wait ?
Panther has been out for 4 months, It's THE OS X version that works like an OS 9.22 (speed and stability) but Mix cards are still not approuved.

We are still on PT5.1 OS 9 and can't wait to move up...

Keep us informed.

regards

Chris

What are you waiting for? I'Ve been running a mix4 system on a MDD Dual 1.25, with jaguar for months now. I've had a couple of kernal panic crashes, but overall, much better performance than 5.1.1 & OS9.
This weekend as a matter of fact I'm upgrading to Panther with that same Mix system. I'll let you know how it goes, if you're interested.

From the download page(http://www.digidesign.com/download/623/) :

>>>Pro Tools|24 MIX Systems with Power Mac G4, 733 MHz and faster, with Mac OS X 10.3.2
Testing in progress. No major problems have been discovered in early testing with Pro Tools 6.2.3 <<<

I installed it on a separate hard disk and it works for me (G4AGP 450GHz boosted to 1.2GHz with Sonnet CPU + SBS13 slot chassis)

Now! I'm running a old dual 500 with 10.3.2 and PT 6.2.3b1. I have 4 Mix cards in a Digi/Magma 13 slot expan chassis. Works great. The SCSI works great too (I have a Atto ultra 3 card). However, there's still no Panther upgrade for a few plugs that can make PT crash (i/e SoundToys' Filter Freak).

Good Luck
E

Works here. Somewhere in another thread a digi representative said it should work (with minor issues?). I still haven't seen any issues that I can speak to.

So, the Tech that was going to help me upgrade reccomended that I not do it until the next version. He said It might work, but would probably be less stable than the system I'm currently running. So i decided to wait. :-(
