Default Two Big Problems with 2022.4

I tried this with Monterey and with Big Sur with the same results:

1) The Universe pane is now completely useless. As you can see with the first screenshot, clicking, dragging, anything I try to do with the mouse won't work, chiefly because the pane is dead. (I submitted this to Avid and they're reporting it as a bug.)

2) The drop-down menu for AudioSuite is the only one that has a white font on a gray background (in the screenshot) - the rest have black characters. This is in Monterey. The white font is ALSO on the plug-ins themselves, making choosing a real problem.

Can anyone help me out of these problems? Thanks!

You on Intel or Apple silicon? Your system info is out of date we can't guess.

2022.4 on Intel/Big Sur I see Audiosuite menu fine. edit: Works OK with dark and classic theme.

Universe pane, wouldn't know what it was or what to do with it if it bit me.

What troubleshooting have you tired for the audiosuite menu? Trashed prefs? Have you tried with the classic theme? undoing any theme customizations if any were done?

If you get support incident number or bug numbers for stuff please post those here.

I’ll definitely post the result of the bug report.

It’s the last gen Intel iMac Retina 27” (3.0ghz 6-core i5). And both happen in both dark and classic modes. I’ll try flushing the prefs and let you know if that works.

The only things outdated in my profile were the MacOS version and the Pro Tools version. Everything else in there is current. Thanks.

BTW, the Universe window is that bar at the top of the edit screen that gives you a flyover view of your session. (Tracks, markers, etc.) You’re supposed the see the tracks in there and you can jump around in the session with a click. It’s where the cursor is in the first screenshot.

Happy to report the 2022.9 update to Pro Tools Studio finally fixes the universal window problem. Thanks, Avid.

Sadly, the white text problem is still there.

Not that I'll be much help, but; I had the same issue PLUS the menu bar (ya know file, edit, etc.) was missing, as in not there at all.

I trashed preferences and did a reboot and now everything seems to be copasetic. Not that I am suggesting this is a fix for you, but it did fix things for me.

Just as a side note, I ALWAYS shut my machine down after my daily back-up. I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but it's like chicken soup for a cold....it can't hurt.

I had the issue with Audiosuite menu "whiting" out too.
I happened to randomly fix it..... Maybe by doing the following two things, which do seem related tangentially:

In System Preferences > Accessibility > Display....

Do you have "Reduce transparency" and/or "Display contrast" settings in use?

I turned my Transparency setting off, and Contrast to normal. Then I realized "I don't like this" and I reduced transparency again and increased contrast slider to first notch..

Later, when I went to use Audiosuite menu, it was easy to see again! I am NOT sure though that what I describe above did the trick. But it seems fixable... somehow or other..

Sad to say, that didn't work and didn't improve with 2022.9.
