Default L,R Heavy Imbalance problem

Hi,
I've just turned on a brand new ProControl and the Balance between Left and Right is WAY off. not a little, everything is super left heavy. I've isolated the problem to the procontrol and what's even wierder is that the imbalance is identical on the Aux Outs as well. has anybody ever seen anything like this?
thanks for any info.

Is this a new or used ProControl? This was more common in older versions of the ProControl (like the two I have). Then Digi tightened up their tolerance specs for pots and the newer ones are better matched. Digi sent me two in exchange for my old ones. My tech installed them with no problems.

It's hard to get two pots to match for their FULL rotation. There will likely be a sweet spot where the levels are matched. No much comfort to know, but at least an explanation. A new one from Digi should be better matched and have a larger or better placed sweet spot (where on the clock is your CR master usually set? --we're usually listening at 12:00 for -20 dBFS = 85 dB stuff.

Call Digi for a replacement.

later, j mcd

If the ballance is off from your mains and alt speakers its not a pot problem. I would check out the Dsub connector wiring. I remember when we made our cables there were a number of errors in the manual diagrams. Make sure you have the correct connector diagrams.
