Most of us have seen it, you try to post on the DUC, and you get the "Access denied" error.

Well, I've more or less confirmed the two basic ideas that I've had about this:
It's more prone to pop up when there are links and stuff pasted into the text, and it can be fixed by copy/pasting the text into a simple text editor, and then back. I use Mac Notes.

Works for me, anyway.

Interesting - I'll have to try that. I've been switching to a different browser and it usually works.

When I get that message, its not due to any links or attachments(for me, anyway). I don't recall having attachments or links in any replies that threw the message(but removing them would be something I would try). I have tried doing a COPY, open the thread in a new tab, PASTE the reply=same error. Also tried opening a different browser but that worked one time out of a dozen or more. The only thing that works SOMETIMES is to cut part of the reply, and if that allows the post to go thru, I will paste the rest of the text in another reply(PITA, but works sometimes). And sometimes I just give up and hope someone else has the same advice

Do me a favor; next time, which I'm shure will come, try my method? Use a simple app, not a big word processor.

I don’t think it is anything to do with links. But the problem is sensitive to the text content or length. When I see it happen I’ll cut a few sentences from the post, then be able to post that and I’ll paste the cut sentences into a follow up post. Happened to me yesterday with no links in the post (but one attached image). Also sometimes the most minor change will work around this, like deleting a single line break to join two paragraphs… that might be what you are seeing happen and it may not be the links per se… or maybe it is and multiple things are going on.

I don't care what you might or might not think. I've found a workaround, as far as I'm concerned.

That’s nice, I misunderstood you were here trying to help other users.

And think about what you are saying here. Pasting plain ascii text into a editor and back again is not necessarily going to do anything. If there is an embedded invalid characters maybe… otherwise to have any effect this has to be changing the text in the editor. Maybe changing line breaks etc. without knowing what you are doing/editor you are using other folks might try this and not get the same changes. Might or might not be just making small changes of the type I am talking about you can do other ways. The cause has to be either time, and just waiting, or in the ascii text content. If the later octal dump (od) on the Mac will show you the changes that the text editor process is making here.

Okay, typed everything out in Notepad and pasted, got the message. Deleted 2/3's of the post and it went thru. Pasted what I deleted, got the message. Deleted half of that and it posted. Pasted the final 3rd successfully. A royal PITA by anyone's estimation. I hate this crap Okay....rant over, everyone can go back to what you were doing

Discussed here many hundreds of times, in many threads. DUC is borked. Try shortening your message, just changing the length.
