Pro Tools not playing back clips when I switch them between tracks

I'm experiencing an issue where I have two clips that I am trying to switch between track (one is a backing vocal and one is the lead vocal). I'm trying to do this so I can process them differently. When I move the clip that was on the lead vocal track to the backing vocal track, it continues playing on the lead vocal track while starting to play on the backing vocal track. The clip that I moved to the lead vocal track does not play at all. Nothing is muted, there is no automation on either track.

I'm running Pro Tools Studio 2022.12 on my Macbook Pro 2018 15" with i9 intel core and 32 GB RAM.

I've done some digging online, but haven't found anyone with this specific problem yet. Any ideas? Thanks!

Are you using Melodyne on the lead vocal track?

^First thing that comes to mind. That's exactly how Melodyne behaves when you move a clip. Assuming that's the case, you'll need to render your processing before you move the clip.
