Default trying to run roland v drums into the pre's in the c24

I am trying to run 8 channels out of the TD 30 brain using 8 1/4inch out and db25 into the c24. I have inserted the db25 in to the DI/line port of 9-16. I can see activity as I strike a drum (by seeing the the red clip light as I turn the trim enough to see something register) I don't see anything on the led lights on the channel strip on the c24, or in protools. and obviously can't hear the input.

Please help!

Hi,

The c24 pre amps do not interface directly into pro tools? they are stand alone so need to be routed into your pro tools interface using the 25way D connection on the back of the C24

So have you routed the c24 pre amps into your interface?

Chris,

I am currently plugged in to DI/Line in 9-16 in the c 24. But I do have a second analog card in my 192. Is it some thing in the IO setup?

Hi,

You need to connect a 25way D-connection cable from the C24 outputs for preamps 9-16 and this will go into your second 192 analogue inputs 9-16 (25way D connection to 8x 1/4 inch jacks)

then in the i/o setup page you need to assign inputs 9-16 to analogue inputs 9-16 on the 192

In-Fact you could plug the V-drums direct into the 192 second analogue card inputs and control the levels going in from the V-drums (You don't really need the preamps on the C24 for line level input like the V-drums)

Chris,

I tried going out from the v drums (TD 30 model) into the second card on the 192. The levels were VERY low. There are faders on the brain of the v drums, will those control the line level?

Second option:

would it be a 25 pin to 25 pin cable running out of the c24 (9-16 out) to the 25 pin port on the second analog card on the 192?

Yeh the faders will control the levels i think on the TD30 also there's a +4 -10 option in the hardware setup for the 192 inputs so check them.

yeh the D25 from the c24 to the 192 (Forgot the 192 analogue has a 25Dway input, so yeh you can use that.
