Unhappy Pro Tools SE and Roland TD9-K2 V-drums

I installed PTSE successfully on my laptop along with the M-Audio MobilePRE interface. Got sound and can record stuff from my electric guitar. I'm more of a drummer than a guitarist, though, and I have a set of Roland TD-9K2 V-drums and would like to record drum tracks WITHOUT resorting to a MIDI controller (which I do not have). In the description for the MobilePRE, it states that I can hook up a drum machine through the 1/4" inputs in the back of the interface. I'm hoping that a set of electric drums would qualify as a drum machine. I can connect the V-drums to the interface using the 1/4" inputs and when I hit a pad the green lights on the interface light up so I know the signal is getting there, but I can't get any sound or signal to register on PTSE. I've looked through the help menu and the user manual, but couldn't find any help. I couldn't even just call tech support because I couldn't find a phone number. I would like help with trying to set up PTSE for real time recording from my Roland drums. How do I do this?

No one? Ok, if I need to use a MIDI controller/interface, which would be a good recommended one?

Edit:
I've been hearing a lot about drum plug ins, such as Ezdrummer, will using one of these work in conjunction with PTSE?

I got it working. I went from the 2 x Outputs on the Yamaha DTX-500 to my M-Audio Fast Track Pro front inputs 1 & 2. Loaded up Protools SE

Make sure you click on the "Record Enable" button on the Audio Track and you should get the sounds outputted from the Roland Kit through PTSE.

You can also run MIDI for more options.

Good Luck.
