Missing plugin presets after upgrade to PT12

I upgraded from PT10 to PT12 last week and have both PT10 & PT12 installed on my mac.
Now I'm noticing that none of the plugins running on PT12 have presets
though the ones on PT10 still do.
I'm in the process of manually importing them, but would like to know what might have went wrong to keep any stock presets from installing.
This goes for avid plugins or other brands like McDSP and fabfilter.

Any help in figuring this out is appreciated.

Found that this is a error that can occur in PT11 and PT12..
followed these instructions and all my presets are back.

Don't forget to back up any custom presets you have created.
