Hardware and Pro Tools: "insufficient system resources"...?
I'm on PT 10.3 , Mac Pro (dual core, 12gb ram), metric halo lio-8
I just started using some outboard gear, a kush fatso and most recently a kush electra eq. I have trouble getting the eq to work in PT, when I start up PT I get this error message: "the following plug-ins were made inactive because of insufficient system resources: Hardware Insert (1)" Has anyone else gotten this message? I think this is the reason I get no sound from my EQ , right? any tips? solutions ? Thanks! |

There are several reasons why you could get this message. One is the track it is inserted on has been made inactive. Another is you have duplicate of the insert so one has to be made inactive. Is the I/O settings still setup correctly for insert on this EQ? If the inputs and outputs are not available anymore then you will get this message! So is all the routing set correctly? Sometimes booting PT without your usual interface connected can cause such I/O confusion as the previous ins/outs are not available anymore. Chris

So is the cure of this I/O confusion to have to edit your ins/outs every time and there's no way to have Pro Tools auto-recognize what is available to it and not throw up a message that makes you think it's a resource issue which is puzzling as there really should be plenty of resources available? Pro Tools could perhaps say it can't cope because i/o's have changed and it doesn't know what to do?
