Default Recording Midi freezes up PT... WHY... *HELP*

Ok so Im running Mbox LE with the latest update.. I use the oxygen 8 midi controller and also use the m-audio midisport 2x2.. Im using a roland a-37 contorller that is triggering my motif and recording the midi info into protools.. through my midisport 2x2 In a goes to mt a-37, with the usb button enabled while recording I can hear the sounds from the motif with that cabel (out a) running into the motiff (in) so it crashes and other than the normal buffer playback problems, when I record midi it locks up on me and I have to close the whole program and restart.. THAT GETS ANNOYING.. so am I configuring something wrong here.. Im about to give up and just buy Logic since all my roommates rave about how great it is anyways..

Default Re: Recording Midi freezes up PT... WHY... *HELP*

I dont know if this will help or not but I just went through something similiar.... it sounds like like your Midi chain (Daisy Chain) May not be correct But I have an Roland XP50, E-Mu Proteus 1000, and a Yamaha RS7000 with the Digi001 PT 6.1 all connected with the m-audio Midi Sport2x4 and this is how I finally made it work:

1. Whatever you are using as a controller (Roland A-37 ***make sure you have your MIDI settings on your roland set***) goes MIDI-IN to the MIDI-OUT of the MBOx
2. MIDI-OUT of the MBOX to the 2x2
3. MIDI-Out of the A-37 to the MIDI-IN of the Mo'... (If your Mo' is anything like my RS7000 the MIDI settings should be... MIDI SYNC: MIDI + MIDI-CLOCK: MIDI A + MIDI CONTROL: IN/OUT A

This helped me after having the RS7000 for almost a year and I JUST figured it out last night. But I can run a sequence out of the RS and record it in ProTools without any hang ups. Your Mbox should trigger your sequence but dont forget to set you channel in and outs correctly! Let me know if this helps any...
