How much RAM is enough?
I'm mainly mixing big sessions with lots of plugins and some VI's - how much RAM do you recommend to buy? I have a dual quad 2.8 mac pro with PT 8.0.3 on OS 10.6.2
at the moment I have 2 1MB chips and 2 2 MB chips total 6MB ram just wondering what you use |

Re: How much RAM is enough?
It depends on what plugins and vi's you are running. If you for example take Trilian, some of the samples/instruments are 3GB. Personally, I'v got 6GB running W7 64bit ultimate and PT 8.0.3cs2. I'm not able to run Trilian smoothly on my I7 setup. Neither am I able to run Strike smoothly. But the other plugins and VI that comes with PT8 runs fine with 6GB ram.

Yes, with vi's the more the better.

Re: How much RAM is enough?
I use strike all the time, sometimes multiple instances, with a 4GB ram 2007 macbook pro. 6 GB should be more then enough

640K ought to be enough for anybody.
