Default PT 9 Question...Kind of Confusing

Hi guys, when I use PT 9 there's this issue I keep running into. Whenever I duplicate a track and want to edit the notes of that track, when I do, the original tracks notes change as well. Like say I duplicate a drum track and take out some of the snares, the original drum track also loses those snare notes. I don't want that to happen though...I don't know if it's a setting I have to change but for some reason when I want to edit a duplicated track it also changes the original as well. This didn't use to always happen. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know . Thanks
