Default Flyin Blind

I have been using my 11R with no problems for over 6 months now and suddenly I have somehing wierd goin on.

When I plug my guitar into 11R, do the usual create 1 mono 1 stereo track assign mono to guitar in and stereo to 11R I can hear my guitar coming through the monitors, but with no 'effects'. (Tried scrolling through patches)

If I record onto both channels I cannot hear effects while recording, yet when I playback the recorded channels all effects have been printed to the stereo track just as they should be.

I first noticed this problem when I re-amped the mono channel. So, I create a send (Re-amp L/R) on mono channel to stereo channel with 11R input selected . In control window Rig input selected to Re-amp L/R.

The frustrating thing is that I can't preview my sound so I'm printing to a track 'flying blind' which is not good especially when using the wah.

I'm wondering if I have inadvertantly done something in pro tools that is stopping me from hearing the effects as I'm playing. (no mute/solo buttons are on at the time).

As I said, I have had no problems for so long that I'm totally confused as to why this would suddenly happen.

I'm running 11R firmware 1.03 (reinstalled) & PT 1.04 (reinstalled)

Is there any software updates that need to be installed with firmware ver 1.03?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just found this in the FAQ section;

In the "Track" menu, "Auto Input Monitoring" should be listed (this is the default monitoring setting for Pro Tools LE). If the "Track" menu instead shows "Input Only Monitoring", click on it to change the monitoring mode to "Auto Input Monitoring".

I'll give this a try when I get to my 11 R next

Go to IO Setup and delete all of your input assignments, and then hit the Default button. It sounds like some assignments got swapped, and you're hearing the direct when you want to be hearing the Rig.
