Laggy/Sluggish UI PT 2021.12

Okay, so I cloned my Catalina install and upgraded to Monterey yesterday.
Initial tests suggest that everything is working (after I upgraded the RME driver) and it does seem snappier than Bug, Sir.
I did see the VCA fader graphics bug, though.

That's not a test I can feasibly run but there must be someone here (or elsewhere) who's tried it.

Welp, forgot to actually try 21.3.1, but I made a bootable backup, updated that to Monterey, and ... still the same SUPER sluggish track resizing. New session, 128 empty stereo tracks. If all the tracks are already large, it'll shrink and resize 10 or so tracks very very quickly. If all the tracks are small (how I normally work) resizing takes an age and a half. Back to Big Sur and 21.3.1, I guess!

I just would let you know, that going back to PT 2021.3.1 solved the same problems to me. I used 2021.12 on my mac pro 5.1 on Big Sur 11.6.2, installed with Open Core. It's not possible to work with 2021.12, super sluggish, lot's of graphic issues, blackboxes, 'false-clicking' and missinterpreting, for example when making a crossfade, loose the mouse and mousing away, the fade jups because the mouse-off command got somewhere lost in space.

However, I thank you so much for the tip with 2021.3.1. So far no issues yet.

2021.3.1 is the latest version I can use without all the gui issues and sluggishness. I hope at some point Avid can get it together. Definitely feels like I’m giving them money for nothing in return.

Definitely do for an upgrade for sure. Now getting random crashes on the Mac Mini M1 that was working perfectly through an entire series. So odd.
