Default Another successful config.....

My machine has been running LE very well...
Asus P3B-F
P3 600mhz.
256ram

cards:
diamond viper 550 agp video card
2920 scsi card
SB live! value
001 card (I had to jostle this card around to get it on IRQ 5 by itself)
3com 10/100 nic
Zoom isa faxmodem

onboard ata controller(66):
seagate 9gig ata system drive-on primary
ibm 30 gig ata audio drive on primary
Pioneer dvd-rom on secondary
HP 10x burner on secondary

Running win98se with two hardware profiles one with all cards running and a 001 modified one where the nic, modem , and SB are disabled. Before I created the separate profiles, I was generating -6042 errors ONLY AFTER I threw in the SB live card.

The board I have is not readily available anymore but if I had to buy a new one I would definitely try the Asus cubx which is based around the tried and true 440bx agp chipset...only it is revved for coppermine socket 370 technology SANS the rambus mth crap!
Cheers!

Why did you want digi on IRQ5?

What did you have to do? BIOS stuff?
Which card is in which slot (where 1 is
closest to CPU )?

I bought an asus cubx-e motherboard for my digi system, and I haven't had ANY problems... it runs flawlessly. and the board was a good price... I recommend it to anybody building a digi system. it will support up to an 800 mHz processor, and up to a gig of ram, which is plenty for the digi system. It also has Award BIOS (which is one of 2 kinds of BIOS supported by digi) and is pc100. The BIOS is really nice and smart on this board, too. I'm running a 750 mHz processor with 512 megs of ram right now, and it loves it! the cubxe board is great. and with the jumper-free setup, you can have bios do almost everything automaticly. I have irq's all on auto, and the digi never gave me one problem setting up. Good luck to all with their digi systems

Just so you know, the Asus CUSL2-C has the Intel 815EP chipset, 133MHz FSB, supports up to 1GHz, allows overclocking of the CPU (I can get 1125MHz stable), typical ATA-100 IDE on board. No built in audio or video (though some versions have it...you need to specify that). ProTools is rock-solid. It only supports 512MB of RAM but that's a significant amount. Award BIOS. I paid $415 with the 1GHz chip. I don't think it supports slower chips but I could be wrong. Take a look on pricewatch.com for the best price. It will probably be lower in a few more weeks after more P4's get out there.
Hope this helps.

the cubx-e allows you to overclock as well, and it supports up to a gig of ram.
