Default cannot import video into pro tools

Hey pro tools friends, I am trying to import a video (mp4 h264) into pro tools but I am getting this message and unable to finish.

"pro tools video playback is not supported when using a windows audio device as the playback engine please use an ASIO compatible interface or install a universal ASIO driver for use with your computer audio card".

I don't have any extra interface or audio card (newbie here; only have a normal motherboard w/ built-in audio card I guess). Is there any workaround here / how can I solve this problem? Thanks!

Short answer:
Buy a decent interface. Make sure Pro Tools does NOT use it as the “default playback device.” Even something as basic as a Focusrite Scarlett Solo will do the trick.
Next, make sure you have a Pro Tools-spec video card.
I was always a MATROX fan, but they update their drivers once in a blue moon, and the video engine refused to cooperate, until I switched to a qualified Nvidia card. Works perfectly now.

Yes, get a proper interface with an ASIO driver. Or, as a band aid solution, try ASIO4ALL2, but seriously, get a proper interface. Audient's new Evo line or MOTU's M line would be my recommendation for inexpensive and they come with Loopback.
