firewire drive & PT24
I just bought a firewire box with the Oxford chipset along with a Seagate 75 gig drive.
Set up and formatting was no problem with Apple Disk Utility and the transfer of sessions to the new drive was very fast. Except: when I open a session from the firewire drive, Pro Tools says it's an invalid drive... I'm running PT5.1.1 with a PT24 card and farm card on a G4 AGP 400Mhz / 448meg ram running OS 9.2. The same sessions run no problem on internal ATA drives, where I normally run them. I've tried the same firewire drive on a Pro Tools LE/Digi 001 system and it worked fine, played back with no problems I'd sure like to find out if anyone else is having this problem and if not, what's the difference in hardware configurations, etc. |

Re: firewire drive & PT24
I can run sessions from an ext. oxford firewire enclosure with no problems. I have a d24 with 2 farms on a G4/733 Quicksilver. PT 5.11 software. Unfortunately, I don't know why it doesn't work on yours. But it can definitely be done.
