Default Alter Ego and other singing synthesisers

Has anyone used Alter Ego (vocal synthesiser) with Pro Tools, I just wondered if it works ok. Also does anyone use any other vocal synthesiser packages/plug ins?

Yes, I've got it and have used it a few times. I've really not had any issues with it. Its a fun VI for sure. You have to experiment with the many different vocal options to see what will work in a session. But, you can get some interesting stuff with it for sure.

There's no getting around how synthetic it sounds, though. But, when that's the effect you want, you can get some interesting from it. Especially like that you can type in lyrics for your "vocalist" to sing.

One downside is it does tend to be a bit of a resource hog. Definitely not light on the CPU.
