Default ETA for software

Is there an ETA for when the new software will ship for the Venue line?

I was told from NAMM attendees that it was expected in February. Unless they ship it today or tomorrow, I'd say it been delayed

Anyone know the prerequisite version that we need to be running? Can we go directly from 2.8.5 to 3.0?

Yes. 2.8.1 is the prerequisite to do an Update.

Hi guys,

Slight clarification needed here: any VENUE system - regardless of its current version of software - can be upgraded to v3.0. The reason for this is that the upgrade takes care of installing all of the necessary bits and pieces.

I think what Doug is referring to is the update process. These are normally "dot releases" (e.g., 2.9.1), and do need to be installed over a specific previous release.

Version 3.0 is considered a full upgrade release, so it can be installed on any system. You do not need to have a specific version already installed on the console.

Sheldon

Certainly not official, but I heard 2-3 weeks from my dealer rep today. So end of March perhaps?
