New 002 rumour

Anybody heard a rumour that Digi may be introducing a new 002 at NAB April 7 Trade Show? I heard it may be a 002 without the faders etc..ie like a 001...but firewire based.

why dont they just focus on gettin PT6 for the DIGI002 first. We are all waiting.

That would be nice. The only reason I got rid of the Digi001 was because it was not firewire. I guess we'll see tommorrow..

You know, a rack mount doesn't seem that portable to me. Something about the size of an external CD burner would be more like the size that I would like to see.
But I WOULD love to see a firewire based device with as much IO as the 001, or just an 002 without the control surface. I tend to use automation so much that I don't think that I would use the faders much anyway. And portability is a big factor for me.

Wonder if it will have those stupid legs like the Mbox? Or 2/3 the size of a rack so it won't fit inside?

well the 001 isn't just a rack mount device. So it seems possable. Since alot of people in this forum have complained that they want a 001/ firewire. As long as its usb2 (what a joke that is).

I always thought that if this rumor was true it would be announced when LE 6 was finished for 002.


The big bang theory. April 7 was way to early for that to happen.
