Default best drum machine/drum software

Hi everyone. I just lost my drummer (he wasn't so good anyway) and I have Digi 001. i do a rock style kind of thing. I have a Boss Dr-770 drum machine that I am good at programming, but the sounds just don't cut it. I want something I can program that sounds like a real drummer. ANyone know what the best approach is for this? thanks

Reason is quite cool. Sampletank free ( www.sampletank.com ) and some free midifiles with some bars of drums ( www.google.com ) will be quite effective.

The hard way is to copy/paste actual beats. Quite a task, but when done very very effective. Ask Roy Howell.

Reason with some great samples is incredible.
Battery with some great samples (and the Studio Drums add-on) is also incredible.
BFD I hear is quite good too.

i forgot, but i think it was from a more recent movie. It IS a movie quote, but more from something like "dumb and dumber" or something like that.

thanks everyone. The only thing is, being a guitar player, I am a little scared by software. Is it as easy to program as those old drum machines? How does it relate to Pro Tools?
