I only use a physical iLok and continue to see this issue even after trying the cloud license setting change suggested. Switch to PT 2021.12 alleviates it. It is very annoying.

Happening non-stop the last few weeks. No cloud here, only physical iLok. It's to the point now that I thought our new iLok 3 was dying, but seeing all the other issues here I'm not so sure...

Its often worth running the synchorize function (in ILM) any time you have issues with a physical iLok(I spent an hour pulling my hair out over the new Groove Cell and Synth Cell authorizations just the other day. Once I ran the sync function, all was fine). My last 2 cents; 2 things I will never do: use iLok Cloud(except in an emergency) or leave Pro Tools unattended overnight. I will actually close it for an hour meal break

Yes. Every so often I get a warning the Pace iLok is not seen. Then Pro Tools shuts down after a minute or so. I've tried making sure the iLok software is up to date. and trying the iLok in another USB port but NG.

Constant Pace Lock error since upgrading to PT 2022.4 whenever I leave computer unattended for 10+ minutes. I'm using physical iLok key and have tried toggling cloud on/off, Synchronizing iLok, etc. Still happening. Any fixes appreciated. Thanks,

I've also been having this issue almost daily since upgrading to Pro Tools 2022.4 Studio... I'm also using a physical iLok only, running iLok License Manager version 5.5.2. I've never had this issue before until this past week. I'm using a 2021 MBP with Monterey 12.3, M1 Max

This appears to be an ILM bug. Even with Pro Tools closed, ILM will report a background component is unavailable and close. I have reinstalled ILM with the latest update and rebooted. Rebooting helps for awhile but Pro Tools can't see the iLok after awhile.

Same here... physical iLok only (managed mode)... only occurring since PT 2022.4 upgrade last week. Happened twice today. Restart fixes it for some unrepeatable time frame.

I tried what BScout suggest and my system has been up for several hours with no problems. It seems to be with the new ILM that cloud is enabled which I have never used. Here is what BScout suggest:


With Pro Tools closed, Open your iLok manager.
Check if your iLok cloud session is closed. If it isn't, first switch your iLok cloud to "manual" management (show details and then you can change that) and then close the iLok cloud (right click and select close). It should grey out (fade back)

The latest iLok manager defaulted a iLok cloud in auto management mode. I have never used iLok cloud (intentionally) and yet there it was. And there were some secondary licenses in it. It's possible Pro Tools is opening using those licenses (one of those secondary was Pro Tools's backup license.)
And auto mode means it can reopen itself (which is why it should be switched to manual first.) For instance, if Pro Tools opens and is missing plugin licenses, it can open the cloud to check in auto (missing licenses like the SynthCell/GrooveCell licenses that haven't deposited yet)

i used Pre Version 5 ILM never have a problem. just as before.
