Computer FREEZING. Please read.
I know that my system is not digi approved but please read on.
PowerTowerPro w/ MAXpowr G3/333 160MB RAM MacOS 9.0 DiskCache:512kb Slot 1: Digi001 Slot 2 pen Slot 3 pen Slot 4:Techworks USB card Slot 5:Adaptec2940U2W Slot 6:3dfx Voodoo3 My computer will randomly freeze completely. No mouse movement, nothing. Even if I don't have digi drivers loaded. Started happening ever since I installed the Digi001. Could my slot order be doing this??? I know that PCI bus 1 also controls the computer I/O leaving bus 2 to be left entirely for PCI cards. But I keep hearing that I should put the Digi001 in slot 1 or as close to it as I can. Any ideas??? Thanks. |

Re: Computer FREEZING. Please read.
OMS, installed when you installed Digi,
includes an OMS USB driver (extension) for use with USB midi devices. It could be that this is conflicting with the USB driver for your USB card. If you are not using a USB midi device..try disabling this extension is the extension manager. The symptoms you describe sound usb related. Also check for other USB extensions installed with the Digi package..or..3rd party plugins...such as "pace" usb extension..etc. dcornutt |

Re: Computer FREEZING. Please read.
What do you mean that the intellipoint drivers conflict with the 001? There is a thread on the PTLE board, with a bunch of people using the intellimouse explorer with G4s and the 001, and no one has uttered a peep about this problem. In fact they're RAVING about the mouse. There is a lot of detail left out of your post - including your use of a USB hub - USB hubs are notorious for causing all kinds of conflicts. I trashed mine pretty quickly.

Re: Computer FREEZING. Please read.
If I enable Intellipoint drivers, my somputer crashes within seconds. Disable them, and I get about a half hour usually. Maybe because of the hub like you said. Thanks.

Re: Computer FREEZING. Please read.
Well, I just got home and removed my hub from the USB chain. Plugged my Intellipoint and printer directly into the USB card and so far VERY good. I would have crashed long ago. Thanks everybody!

Re: Computer FREEZING. Please read.
It is an Entrega 7port hub. They are also called something else but I forgot what the new company name is.
