Color Palette question

Good morning, I've fot Pt M-Powered 7.4cs9. I've seen videos of folks changing the color of the tracks by opening the color palette, holding down, Cntrl/Alt/Start and then dragging the cursor to darken the tracks.. This looks good to me but I must be doing something incorrectly... In Windows, the Start key..I'm assuming is the key between the Ctrl and Alt keys to the left of the shift bar? If it is, then something else is going on because when I hold down those three keys, and click inside the palette, all the color bars on all the tracks change to the color I happen to be pointing to when I click the mouse, and no change of color to the tracks take place as I drag the cursor.. Might someone know where I'm messing up? Thanks, Richrd.

Have I stumped the Users? Funny but I thought this was a quick answer since there are so many videos out there. Unfortunately I think every one speaks the language of Apple... Please help...

Hi Richard?..Yeah u press all 3 keys, hold them, click & hold, then drag up to darken & down to lighten, & afterward, u then release the left click...

This always worked for me when I was i PT7.4. I never made it to CS9 though.

Do you have all of the tracks highlighted when you hold the keys and select the color?

That's the only thing that I can think of that would affect all tracks at the same time.

If so, deselect the ones you do not want to change.
