not entirely relevant...
microsoft wireless mouse, program the extra buttons to program specific keystrokes, ie. ctrl + = for the mix/edit toggle.
super handy if you have one monitor.
lags slightly if motionless...
2 cents

I got the gyration and I would definitely not get it again, it sucks not having the keypad. it's great for other stuff, but if I had known about PT I wouldn't have gotten it. Actually all the computer stuff I got was kind of wrong. I don't recomend the shuttle XPC's either, because they are kind of loud and there isn't anything you can do about it.

Just my too sense...

I have a Logitech wireless optical mouse and keyboard. The reciever is connected by 2 usb extensions ('bout 30 feet in total length), which is plugged into a usb/PS2 adapter and plugged into the PS2 port. The extensions run parallel to my 50' audio snake.

I've done this so i can engineer myself, from my iso booth, when I'm laying drum tracks. I have had absolutely no problems what so ever.

kmshroom - Actually I can't answer the mouse question because I don't use it. I don't use it because I have slight carpel tunnel in my right wrist and the gyration mouse sits higher in the air off the pad so you have to bend your wrist back more to use it. So I just use my Logitech.

A friend of mine with an 002 uses it and he loves it especially the part about it working off of the mouse pad but that still doesn't answer your accuracy question...sorry

I don't agree that it sucks not having the keypad. Numbers are across top and there is access with the blue Fn key to numbers a second time as Fn shifts about alpha characters. I'm willing to learn something about this but as far as I know there is nothing you can't do with this keyboard. Again I may be wrong but I just don't what the limition is.

You do have to adjust to some different locations but aren't we always adjusting to something?

The new BlueTooth wireless keyboard and Mouse are now becoming available. see link...

http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=...t=549&scat=551

You get the 30' range(beyond line of sight), optical 'accurate' mouse movement, and most importantly....a numeric keypad!
Bluetooth is the same technology used in the wireless headsets for mobile phones.

Check out the MX Duo from Logitech. The mouse is in the MX series, the most accurate line of consumer optical mice to date.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Is anyone controlling their rig through remote controller software like VNC. I installed it so I could run PT via my laptop when I'm tracking guitar or drums by myself in the other room. It works but if you've ever used VNC you know that the screen freezes up and needs to be refreshed sometimes. Well, with PT and all its moving parts its almost impossible to see what you're doing. Is anyone using something that works better?
