Default travel recording

HI guys,
I"m using PT 10 on an imac at home with 3rd gen mbox pro.
I"m leaving town for a couple of weeks, and looks like I'll need to record
some guitar for a TV composer I'm working for while I"m gone.

I"m trying to figure my best option for getting that done:

Buy a laptop and install PT macbook pro?
rent a studio locally
buy a mac mini, install PT before I leave, and use it with a family computer?

What are your thoughts?

What's the budget? Are you not able to bring the iMac with you?

I can't bring the iMac. I'm flying. Would not like to spend a lot, but if I have to buy a laptop, I will. Just brainstorming options.

Here's what I would do: pack up the iMac real well, FedEx it to my destination. I would make sure to do a backup of everything first, and I wouldn't skimp on the insurance.

Probably easier and cheaper in the longrun to buy a refurb MBP so you don't risk any damage and wear and tear to the Imac. It is quite big so the better the packing and insurance etc the more cost. A laptop you can have on the plane and whenever you travel in the future just get a nice case for it

Yeah, the refurb sounds like it might be a good way to go.
I'll check into it. Hopefully a bit cheaper than a new laptop.

Thanks!
