Hello, I've read through a few questions about sustain pedals, but I'm fairly new to this recording business and don't know what applies to me.
I have an old casio keyboard that has midi capability and it works fine with Pro Tools SE (I've just bought the Fast Track C400) and midi. If I plug a sustain pedal into the sustain input of my keyboard, will that then transfer to midi and allow me to sustain notes?? Thanks for any advice in advance! |

You aren't very specific about the keyboard model, so I can only advise to consult the manual to your keyboard, because with cheaper intruments sustain may work for the internal tone generator without the ability to send the corresponding MIDI controller data through MIDI OUT.

When I use the sustain pedal with my Motif, the info does get recorded as part of the midi performance.
