Video playback instantly, but after I opened Pro Tools HD...

Hi, when I play a video using quicktime, quicktime instantly plays it when I hit play. But after I open Pro Tools HD 8 without any project open, it cost 3-5 seconds to play it after I hit play. Also, in Pro Tools HD8, after I insert the video into a session, when i hit play in pro tools , it still costs 3-5 seconds to play it... How to let pro tools play it instantly?

I'm putting the video files on a seperate high speed disk, my MAC PRO is 8 core 8G memory and I think this should be fast enough to play it.

This is fixed by changing your computer audio output away from the Digidesign hardware (as far as I remember)

The QuickTime engine is fighting to get control of your digi hardware.
