So.. if we need a bugfix for a 2019.12 it would be called 2019.12.1 even if it was released in 2021 hottest summer month. This is called software version tree and so long as there are only dot-zero versions we just drop it and talk about 2019.12 or 2021.3 as per "their own rules" say, year and month when that was released.

Nobody would know what it was if this imaginary example of 2019.12.1 would be called 2021.4 as it would clearly be 2019.12 features with a bugfix but released in april of 2021. Can you understand it with this example?

Who wants to go back interpreting what PT6.4.1cs2 really meant? Gosh... And besides, this is not the first time either. But who would remember 2020.9.1 as it is so ancient history.

It seems that annoying intermittent flicker on Big Sur is gone. So far I have not experienced it. It would have done it by now so cool.

For those that use a modified dark mode file be aware that this PT update overwrites the modded file. Hopefully those that do use the modded file have a safety copy of it so you can put things to right. If not - email me and I'll send you the file.

When I run Pro Tools, the version number it displays (on the splash screen AND Help/About) is 2021.3.0. So I have no idea if I'm running 2021.3.1 but it's displaying the wrong version number, or if Avid Link simply reinstalled 2021.3.0.
Solution - don't use Avid Link - most people uninstall it and do a manual download from one's Avid account.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to open Falcon *outside* of ProTools? It will only open as a plugin within PT, and the message you're seeing is what's flashed when trying to open it elsewhere.

I'm wondering if there haven't been other subtle tweaks included in this update. Yes, they mentioned only two, but I've heard reports from a few people that things have been operating differently since today's update; things outside of the two items which were mentioned in the change log.

Possibly, but uncertain. That is why there is beta testing of software; sometimes change in thing A reflects on things B and C getting broken and things D, E and F getting fixed. Beta team gets a certain build of PT that has fix to thing A but most often than not there are also reports on many other even unrelated things. That is also why it takes time to get a "quick fix" out, as fixing "just thing A" may take many iterations to get other things back in working order. And believe me or not, sometimes even doing another build without any changes can have the same effect.

Been there, done that. And I still sometimes have nightmares about delay compensation going horribly wrong. End of story, but things are not so simple as "my car has a flat tire, please change it asap".

I was thinking the same thing. I suppose some other bug fixes may not be deemed "Critical" and were not listed.

Has anyone tested the new HD driver yet? It sounded like several people rolled back to 2020.12 due to a problem with the HD driver.

Can anyone confirm the glitching video is no longer happening?
