Default PT 2020 Truncating Stereo .Wav filenames

Has anyone experienced PT shortening audio file names on import?

After looking through the manual I understand that this is an intended feature when saving in compatibility mode for older versions (which i am not doing) but I thought that this did not apply to modern versions of PT.

example:
The file name before import:
SM MX 101 Cut 145343 Locked - 4m07 v01.01 Sample File - Sample Name - BPM 170 - 01.11.30.15 - 07 BASS

after import:
SMMX101Cut145343Locked-4m07v01.01SampleFile-SampleName-BPM170-01.11.30.15-07BASS

This is only happening to my stereo audio files, mono audio files display the original clip name in PT, while the mono .wav in the audio folder is still truncated.

After import the file names can be corrected but having to go through and fix the name of every audio file I import is incredibly time consuming.

I'm using
OSX 10.14.6
PT 2020.12

Gander - you're only missing spaces - I'd not worry about it.

Musicman

Those are just an example. In most situations the file name truncation is much worse. And either way it is still a problem when you need to deliver well organized stems.

Would you mind posting what you consider to be a worse truncation? It may be absolutely nothing that really matters.

What? Are you writing a novel when naming a file?

I have to wonder something similar - why such a long file name?

Did anyone get to the bottom of this? I still get this now occasionally where long names including full broadcast info(i.e Series & Ep names) get condensed.

Bloody annoying but can't work out why its happeneing

What operating system? What version of PT? How long of a name are you trying to use? Please provide an example.
