Mix window disappeared

Just posting my foray into restoring my Mix Window. The Mix Window disappeared when I inadvertently hit the minimize or X button by accident.

After going through hours of look-ups and trying every menu on PT LE 8 I arrived at the only method I or anyone else could suggest. Re-install the program. I tried the "Repair" re-install to no avail.

Upshot: Had to uninstall the entire program and then re-install it. The Mix Window came back however, the old file I was working on when I lost it, remains as having no Mix Window. Also, the MBox Mini drivers had to be re-installed with the program even though they showed as still being on the hard drive. The drivers for Mac and PC are available at Avid.com/drivers.

Also, please note that this trouble had nothing to do with the toggling function between edit/Mix windows. The Mix Window was gone and any clickable remnant as well.

Hope this helps someone in the future. I lost a weekend over it.

You probably went thru a ton of work for nothing. When you minimize the MIX window, usually you can go to the Window drop-down menu and select MIX window and it will come forward again. It might be small and tucked down at the lower left corner, but then you could click on the corner maximize button and get it back. There is also a keyboard shortcut to bring the MIX window forward, but I can't remember it(I use dual screens so mine is always up on the right screen with the EDIT window on the left).

command-equal on Mac, so probably control-equal on Windows I presume. This toggles between MIX and EDIT windows, and will bring up either if one was closed inadvertently.

That's it! Ctrl= will toggle the windows...on Windows
