Help Please Concerning Uninstall and Reinstall Pro Tools 7.3
Hello,
I have been running Pro Tools 7.3 x without a hitch for some time now ... running an HD3 Accel system, os 10.4.8 on a qualified G5. We are in the process of moving [out of state], and the machine was not used for several weeks, while in a climate controlled storage area. A client called the other day, and I needed to retrieve the machine. The G5 wouldn't power up. Fortunately, the Apple-authorized repair shop had a replacement power supply, which turned out to be the culprit. The machine starts fine now, but Pro Tools won't launch. I've tried the recommended fixes [trashing preferences, repairing disk permissions, etc]. I also updated the os to 10.4.9 [now qualified] using the recommended Combo Updater. Nothing has worked, and I'm considering the uninstall/reinstall option. I have my 192 interface, my ilok key, and my drives, but I neglected to grab my manuals from storage [which contain my Digi serial numbers]. As most of my things are in storage, hours from where I currently am, I have a question or 2 ... If I uninstall/reinstall, will I be asked for my serial number before I can use the app? Today's Saturday, and I don't believe I can reach Digi Tech Support. Also, I haven't had to uninstall/reinstall in a long time. Will I need to download all my plug-ins again, or can I just make a copy of the current plug-in folder? Sorry for the long expose, but I wanted to explain why I didn't have my manuals. Thanks for your help, jep

Re: Help Please Concerning Uninstall and Reinstall Pro Tools 7.3
Hello,
1. No, its all ILOK now. 2. No, all third party plugins will stay put. You have 2 uninstall options? one is safe uninstall and the second is clean uninstall, try the safe option first as this just removes the main program files (which is likely to be your problem) if that doesn't work try the clean uninstall. But i would first try removing all the plugins (except stereo.mixer.dpm) from the plugs folder mack HD/Library/App support/Digi/Plugins. Now see if it boots up. if not try the uninstall options. Chris
