Default So point releases aren't going to be free?

During this whole service plan/subscription debacle it was stated, emphatically, by several Avid employees that point releases would continue to be free and that we would have access to them even if we were not covered by a support plan or subscription.

Is that not the case any more?

One would think that is you have a valid license for Protools 11 and that you have access to PT 11.3.1 that you would also be able to have access to 11.3.2 without having to buy Protools 12 and the requisite service plan/subscription.

So fess up Avid, which way is it?

I don't have a support plan, and I received 11.3.2. It looks like they rolled out that update to HD owners first, and it will soon come to non-HD owners.

I know, I know, "soon" is no comfort. But if you own 11 then you definitely are entitled to the 11.3.2 update.

This phased rollout of PT11.3.2 is, to quote the kids of today, an epic fail.
First PT12 users get it and they have no need for it, then PT11HD users get it, then it looks like us lowly PT vanilla users will get it last.

Why do these updates have to be doled out by Avid? Why do they have to be trickled into individual accounts like this? What's wrong with just providing a download page where ANYONE can go grab it at their leisure?

My guess is they are setting up the system to where only folks under current subscriptions will have access to updates in their accounts only. Point or otherwise.
