Default Using an older system as an effects box

Hey everyone,
I have a hair brain idea, I have an older plugin bundle (eventide clockworks legacy) that only runs on a PPC Mac, could I use digital I/O to use that system with my main system or will there be latency issues?

Dunno. Sounds like a lot of trouble. Why not just buy the current version & install it on your main rig? Eventide might even offer an upgrade discount from your older version.

Because my main rig is still a legacy system, just a much later legacy system. (PT 10 HD on a Intel Mac Pro)
Plus even if I could run the current versions of these plugins, it would cost over a $1000 to have all of them that I have in this bundle.

You wouldn’t be the first one to do that. Nothing wrong with it and latency shouldn’t be any problem at all except if you are doing some sort of parallel processing.

I have a similar setup, an old mix system with an ADAT bridge that I use to run soundtoys soundblender and a few other TDM plugins from that era. I don't use it as often as I thought I would, but it's still nice to have access to it when I want to relive my youth.

Yeah, I had all these bits to put this together, including space in a noise canceling rack. I guess I’m the same way, reliving the early years.
