Exclamation Digi, Whats the time frame for CS2?

My biggest gripe with 8.0.3 is the quicktime jerky playback issue out of my Avid Mojo. I assume (maybe I shouldnt) that cs2 will adress the quicktime issues with playback, Mojo, Canopus, Blackmagic cards.

All I need to know is how long are we looking at here, its been 2 months since these issues came to light. Are we looking at waiting another month or two?

I need to know so I can start building out 8.0.1 systems (which I would not be happy about) to cure my quicktime problems.

Please, a hint or anything would be great.

Every time we ask that's another 3 days added to the wait time

Did you ask Apple when the Gulftown MacPro's are coming, too?

Any response, there?

Sorry to hear about your jerky Mojo, but I don't got Digi telling us when a new update will come out. DTS just had to remove a post in another thread because they said it would be 'soon' and 120 days later, users were holding them to the 'soon' description; the users were bummed as 'soon' should mean 'today'.

That's why this question is not something Digi will actually answer, sorry.

Thanks for playing.

Its a shot in the dark man, what can I do?

I dont have any options left except moving back to 8.0.1 or 7.4.2, neither of which I am too excited about, so I figure 'Hell, why not?' and posted.

Every machine in every suite I work in has a 7.4.2 drive and an 8.x drive. Lately those have been 8.0.3, but there is still a FW backup bootable on 8.0.1.

Are you not able to run off a other drive?

I do have 7.4.2 on a leopard build, its not installed in the computer since I need the other three bays for media and didnt want to partition my system drive.

I will do that if I need to, but I am not happy about it.

I'd clone to a FW drive and reinstall PT to it. That way you can switch between 7x and 8x.

For the record - I don't like 7.x anymore, either.

Good luck!

Hi,

I reverted back to 8.0.1 it took me 10 minutes!! there's little difference between the 2 versions and for me having my control 24 modifier buttons working is more important. so for you having your mojo working is more important!!

Digi will never give a date for CS releases

Chris

Actually, you can run 8.0.1 on snow leopard just fine. I'd try that first.

I did have one little issue, iKey (the quick keys alternate I use) wouldn't find any of the menu items I'd built keys to trigger....
