I can't see anyone in the thread mentioning whether they can select an Audiosuite plugin with the names in this grey state, or not. I sometimes see the whole PT menu bar in grey, but when I click it, it 'wakes up' and everything is normal. PT 2020.12, Big Sur.

When I see the greyed items, I can totally still click them and open the audiosuite plugin window. It doesn't seem to ever "wake up" but changing system and PT "light and dark modes" back and forth seems to randomly set things right (for a time).

I got a response from Avid saying the bug has been resolved in the 2022.10 release, which I can confirm I have not seen happen since.

Here is the bug number for this issue: PT-290335

That is correct. Mentioned in the Release Notes:

Pro Tools 2022.10 Release Notes

best,

Truly astonishing that bugs like this exist and MORE ASTONISHING that they can persist over several versions of the program.

This bug has been reported, but don't think it will be fixed even in the next version

Thank you TimNeilson for this insight.

This issue happened to me today and the problem WAS the sample rate somehow got changed. I took a look at MBOX Control and confirmed that the sample rate had changed. I changed it back to 48k and the AudioSuite menu was no longer Greyed out after restarting Pro Tools.

Oddly, in the past with my other interface (RME MADI FX ) Pro Tools would warn me if I opened a song that had a sample rate that differed from what that interface was set to. The Mobx Studio interface did not trigger a warning about the sample rate.

I'm on an M1 MacBook Pro using Pro Tools 2022.10 and the interface is the new Box Studio.

Best Regards 😊

Even though the plug ins are "greyed out" you can still use them. It's just the unhelpful colour scheme.
