Default Xpand2 will not play defualt presets

My Xpand 2 will not play any of its default settings ;i.e, soft pad, bright pad, huge pad, etc. The only way I can sample the sound is by clicking with the pecil tool in the track. When I click on a sample setting my Xpand2 doesn't play the sample sound. (For example, Auronaut, from Soft Pad does not play after it is clicked on.) The tracks LED light does not display also so I know that it is not just a speaker error but instead a software error of some kind.

I have installed Pro Tools 8.0.4 on my computer to the book and have no clue why this is happening to me. PLEASE HELP i am running out of ideas
