Midi Notes disappear

When I click on a midi note to try and edit, it vanishes or turns white (the same colour as the background) making it almost impossible to work as I can't see what I'm doing. However when I click on a "note free" area on the track, the note reappears, so it only disappears temporarily.

Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any solutions?

What numeric version of Pro Tools are you on? This was fixed in an update, but I don't remember which one.

Making sure you are using the most recent version of Pro Tools would probably be the best advice anyone can give.

Might have to Upgrade. Maybe 7.3 or higher if you please.

I run PTS 7.3 CS7 and today I have seen the same thing, while editing notes turn white, which is Annoying, if you however click on any part of the piano roll then the note changes back so it is visible again just a big annoyance. I work with midi all the time, however lately I work with extensive midi editing hence I discover all these funnies in PTS 7.3. I have not done extensive editing since PTS v7.1 I really struggle with midi editing in v7.3

I am using 7.3 When using the pencil tool the MIDI notes will sometimes be there and then disappear. In piano scroll the notes are always visible, although they do get 'greyed - out' sometimes.

Does anyone know if this is a bug, or if there is a fix?

When using the pencil tool the notes would disappear after some operation time....undetermined.

I went to the preferences>MIDI page and under Default Region Color Coding enabled the button for Tracks and MIDI channels. The notes reappeared - in 'glorious' color.

As filosofem stated, the "fix" for this problem was implemented in 7.4. While there are several workarounds, if you want to permanently eradicate it, you will need to upgrade to 7.4.
