Default Midi Notes Disappear?

Hello,

I'm trying to draw in Midi notes (like Cymbal hits) at beat 1 of a new region and the notes just disappear! They don't show up no matter what zoom level I'm at, the drawn in notes don't "playback" but if I go under the Edit menu, I can choose to undo the drawn in Midi notes! The drawn in Midi notes only disappear at the first beat of a some new regions, I can draw in notes anywhere else in the grid.

I'm using EZ Drummer (for what it's worth), I'm dragging a Midi groove (which is about 1 bar long in length) from the plug-in into my instrument track, then I "Command D" that section I just dragged in to duplicate that 3 times to form a 4 bar 4/4 region. Then I choose another Midi groove, drag that into the instrument track, repeat the duplicate procedure to form another 4 bar 4/4 region. Now if I want to draw in something like a cymbal hit at the beginning of that new region that's when I run into the disappearing note problem. Hope this makes sense.

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Thanks

Are the MIDI notes really disappearing (they're gone) or are they becoming invisible (you can't see them but they play)? If it is the latter, it would be another example of this bug. If it's the former, you've found a new bug that I have not seen yet.

Thanks for the reply. They disappear as in "they're gone".

I've had the same thing happen with EZDrummer and all of the expansions except, Twisted and Claustrophobic ( coming soon ), Setup a cool groove and go back to throw in some fills and accents and noticed that after I drop a Fill pattern in, that the kick for the beginning of the Next Pattern just dissapears, but I've been able to go and draw it back in and reset Velocity and all has been fine.
It's a PIA and not a clue as to why, and this has all been with basic 4/4 beats.
I have done some Jazz peices with 6/8 and it all worked great, I notice it more with the Drum kit from Hell midi patterns more than the others

Hey Whiteyguitar,

Thanks for replying!

Yes, I have seen the kick for the beginning of the Next Pattern disappear as well (Big PIA!). The trouble I'm having is I can't draw in a Midi note on Beat 1 where one Midi Groove (Region) meets another Midi Groove (region). Of course to make matters worse, this happens in random regions and not across the whole song where all the regions meet. I contacted Toontrack and they blame it on Pro Tools 7.3, (a Midi Bug). Have you encountered this problem? I'm just using the Default Pop/Rock Kit and the Midi Grooves from that Kit. What a nightmare!

Sorry, I have not seen anything like that Just what I explained above.
I'm running on a G5 2.5 Gig with PT LE 7.3.1cs3 ( I believe ) I think they just came out with cs4 so I have not updated to that yet and Toontracks Update of 1.1.0.
When you try to draw in the Midi note do you have it set up for freehand?
You should only have to double click where you want the note placed, then go back and adjust it's velocity.
But where it's happening all over the place, I really can't figure out why.
I wish I could be of more help
