plugins not showing up in insert list ,till a newb

Still a newbie after all these...repartitioned hard drive, installed sampletankle, amplitude, TRacks they're in hard drive folders but not in pts.. also synchronic seems to be inactive yet Smack is alive and well....Ptle7,pent4 2.8, 2-sata drives, 3Gig ram, and a George Foreman fryer.....Thanks for your help in advance. Any info on how to navigate to old threads here would be appreciated also klickyman

give it a try. Programs, then digidesign if there. Look at common files. Dae....stuff like that for plug-in. This is vague, but idea is there. x

So, he/she has checked... Are the plugins you can't use the right versions for your Pro tools? You may need to update them to Pro Tools 7.0 compatibility.

Casper/Kryst, Thanks for your input.Went to common files like you suggested&I found more protools files on my o/s partition of the hard drive. (they weren't supposed to be there} All of my software is on the other partition so I will transfer them there and see what happens. Everything was compatible and up and running before the repartition. I have been away for a few days and just got back online, sorry for the delay. I'll let you know what happens....thanks again....klickyman

Pro Tools and all of the peripheral software, plugins etc, should be installed to the same drive/partition as the operating system.

Hi Spk.... always enjoy reading your posts and your site... I did send all the files from o/s to the fdrive(all software). Restarted the computer and still don't have access to any of the samplet/amp/Tracks..etc/ I can open their folders in the hard drive and see all the samples..etc. but their not available as an insert. I did reinstall them all a couple of days ago in the repair mode and also searched the ptle7 cd to see if there was something I missed but found nothing..... regarding synchronic: I can load loops into it but I have no options when I press the factory default button. I used to have four I believe....Whats your take on this....thanks....klickyman

Ok Spkgtr.... I just reread your post and realized what your saying, I missed it at first. Whats the easiest way to do that? Do I have to repartition the whole drive or just reinstall XP in the partition with all the software.Or uninstall XP from its existing part.... and then reinstall in the larger software partition?
